Louisiana Foundation Opens Assistance to Those Affected by Hurricane Delta
With the second hurricane impacting Louisiana in less than six weeks, the Louisiana Credit Union Foundation is once again providing grant assistance. Credit union employees that experienced damage to their property, are displaced or are incurring extraordinary expenses for everyday needs caused by Hurricane Delta are eligible to apply.

Credit union employees are asked to use the above application to report damage sustained only by Hurricane Delta. The Foundation recognizes each natural disaster independently. Those who received assistance following Hurricane Laura are eligible to submit applications for Hurricane Delta. Applications will be accepted through October 28, 2020.

Louisiana Shared Branching Participants Receive COVID-19 Rebate Initiative
In an effort to show continued commitment and solidarity with credit unions, CU Cooperative Branching's leadership team has committed more than $50,000 to a COVID-19 rebate. Both shareholders as well as associate members will have a rebate payment sent by ACH to their credit union next week.

"Louisiana shared branching credit unions exemplified their cooperative spirit during the pandemic by continuing to service guest members amid lobby closures, proving to be an immense value in times of uncertainty. Once again, the unique structure of credit unions places an emphasis on the member above everything else. We hope this small token of appreciation demonstrates our unwavering support," said Bob Gallman, LCUL President/CEO.

Rebates will range from $500- $1500, and are made possible due to strong network performance over the years.

YPN Celebrates ICU Day with Donation to Foundation
Each year, LCUL's Young Professionals Network hosts a statewide youth financial education initiative during International Credit Union Week. Credit unions across Louisiana visit schools and read books with a financial education message provided by YPN to thousands of children. The best part? Each student gets to take home the books with a message about credit unions inside!

Since access to schools is limited due to COVID-19, YPN has donated $4,000 in lieu of purchasing books to the Louisiana Credit Union Foundation to support our credit union family affected by Hurricanes Laura and Delta.

This donation would not be possible without the support of YPN's sponsors each year, and the committee looks forward to continuing to teach financial education to students next ICU Day!
