November 13, 2019
Dear friends,
I hope you are enjoying the fall season!
Thank you to all those who joined me on October 24th for our last event series in 2019,
Resource Workshops: Bringing Services to You - Veterans Affairs, Prince George's County.
Prince George's County has the largest concentration of veterans in the State of Maryland and many of our veterans have challenges in areas of employment, housing, education assistance, and other quality of life matters. The office opened it's doors in Upper Marlboro in February 2019 to address many of these matters and is lead by Dr. James Dula. At the workshop Dr. Dula had the opportunity to discuss the following developing initiatives:
- Women Veterans Initiative
- Suicide Education and Prevention
- Homeless Veteran Initiative and Rental Assistance
- Supportive and Surviving Spouse Initiative
- VA Claims Initiative
- Healthcare and Mental Health Initiative - to include the CBOC (Community Based Outpatient Clinic)
- Quality of Life Initiative - to include our Community Familiarization Program for
returning veterans
Resources provided at the event can be found
