Virtual Grand Rounds Are Here!
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought both changes and challenges for the UVM CMIE team. While the suspension of live, in-person learning has forced some of our conferences to be postponed and even cancelled, it has also spurred us into action on a project we have been wanting to address for some time – accrediting Grand Rounds for remote and recorded learning!
Wilderness Medicine Conference Will Offer EMT Credit!
The launch of UVM’s first-ever Wilderness Medicine Conference last year tapped into a great enthusiasm among a wide range of medical professionals for improving medical care in remote locations. This year’s event will be an even bigger draw for “medical and interprofessional education” with the introduction of credit approval for EMTs.
Despite having to shut down our office, CMIE is still working as a team.
And utilizing technology more than ever as we support the UVMMC hospital departments that need to move their annual conferences from this Spring to the Fall.
Proud of our UVM CMIE support staff, working remotely, as well.

Reviews from January’s Emergency Medicine Update in Stowe have been wildly over the top. By all accounts, the conference was a great success. Drawing participants from 20 states, the program provided dozens of presentations in addition to optional workshops. Attendees were happy with the short-talk format.
Silver Jubilee Year for Vermont Perspectives in Anesthesia
The 25th Annual Vermont Perspectives in Anesthesia conference featured poster presentations by selected student researchers, quality education, and superb skiing in Stowe last month.
