Because locker and locker room access will not be available, students will be allowed to wear certain items to campus if you are officially participating in the above mentioned classes and activities. Please review this document for specifics.

Students must also wear a mask at all times while on campus.

Reporting Students Opting to Stay in Distance Learning

Parents: The deadline for communicating students who would like to remain in distance learning is this Friday, November 6 at 9:00 am for next week's start of hybrid. Please email attendance@riordanhs.org with your student's name and class year. Your adherence to this deadline is greatly appreciated as we plan for the opening next week.

After hybrid learning had begun, please use the same procedure to report if your student will be joining the hybrid. We ask for 2-3 days advance notice.

Community Health Pledge and Risk Assessment Forms

The SFHPH requires that all families complete these two forms regardless if you will be in hybrid or full distance learning. These must be filled out by a parent or guardian. Please fill out one form per student by Friday, November 6.

  1. Community Health Pledge
  2. Risk Acknowledgement Form

En español: Compromiso de Salud Comunitaria y Reconocimiento de los riesgos. Por favor, usan los links arriba para completar las formas.

Recommended Testing

It is strongly recommended (but not required) that all Riordan students be tested before returning to school. Positive results for a student or a person living in your household should be reported to Riordan's confidential COVID Coordinator Mr. Mark Modeste, covid@riordanhs.org. A list of testing sites can be found here. We also encourage all students to get a flu shot.

Travel Policy

We will be following the SFDPH's recommendation on travel. As we do our part to maintain the health and safety of our school community, per the SFDPH we recommend avoiding travel out of state/country and to locations with known high infection rates of COVID-19, or you have engaged in the circumstances below, within two weeks of in-person instruction. We will aim to provide families with two weeks-notice prior to a return to campus to allow students and staff to follow this guidance. As a courtesy, we will ask Riordan families to report recent and future travel plans if needed for contact tracing purposes to attendance@riordanhs.org.

  • You interacted for more than 15 minutes within six feet of someone outside your household when you or the other people around you were not wearing a Face Covering at all times;
  • You were indoors, including on a plane, train or bus, and either you or those around you were not wearing face coverings at all times;
  • You interacted for more than 15 minutes within six feet of someone—either with or without a Face Covering—who was experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or who began to experience symptoms of COVID-19 within 48 hours of your interaction with them.

Cohorts

Information about a student's assigned cohort were emailed to parents and students on Friday. If you need this information resent, please contact Mr. Michael O'Brien, mobrien@riordanhs.org.
Other FAQ

Additional information can be found on our reopening plan page.

Can a student can participate in athletic workouts even if he/she has elected to do full distance learning? Yes

What should I do prior to when my student arrives to school? Assess for symptoms and fill out a screening in PowerSchool.

Where can I drop off my student? City college parking lot or the surrounding neighborhood. Please do not drop off in the front of school.

Where can I pick up my student? Please note the above locations. If your child takes the 43 bus or uses a rideshare app, we ask they wait at another stop away from the school building to avoid congregating out in front of school.

How can I report my child to join the hybrid?
If your student is in full distance learning but would like to switch to hybrid, please email attendance@riordanhs.org at lease three days prior to return.
