Verity asked almost silently, just barely audible, "Yes, what do you love?" She was still looking out across Caravan. "What do you find beautiful? In the horizontal world, what do you find beautiful? There are so many choices. When you find beauty, why do you find it beautiful? Why are you moved?"

5 Ways to be Inspired Daily by
The Caravan of Remembering
|
|
The Caravan of Remembering
is an antidote to fear, Daniel recently shared. What if, in times like these, we were more able to respond in a meaningful way, rather than react?
Caravan
and the work of Life Mission helps us do this.
Here are 5 ways you could tune yourself to
Caravan
on a daily basis:
Question of the day
:
pick a question from the back of the book in the morning, hold it for the day and write about it in the evening.
Flow write:
open Caravan to a page and read a section, then do some flow writing.
Read aloud:
read a few paragraphs to yourself and possibly another. For some, hearing the words can help them resonate more deeply.
Post-it note quote:
c
hoose a line or two that speak to you and put it on a sticky note where you can see it throughout the day.
Five-minute read:
set aside 5 minutes a day in your calendar to read from
Caravan
- pick up where you left off or start anew.

Interview with Daniel:
Inspiration for Our Times
|
|
As James Hillman says, it’s not so much the damaging things that happen in our lives that matter, it’s the damaging things we tell ourselves about it. We always have the opportunity to look for the "high story," to tell our story in a way that empowers us, that has us feel connected, that we’re making the world a better place, even just for the people around us.
Ask yourself, “What’s the kindest thing I can say to myself right now?” Then see what empowering questions you can ask yourself next.

The Importance of Remembering
|
|
A reader shares her process of becoming:
In chapter 2 of
The Caravan of Remembering
, a group of about twenty people circle around a fire.
"There is a saying among shamans," he said, his voice softer, "you become what you hunt. Anything you dwell on becomes something you hunt. If you don't ask what your life is for, what its purpose is, then you hunt for something else. It won't be who you really want to become. If it's true you become what you hunt, then what are you becoming?"
I have long been in the process of becoming, struggling to know what I really want to become. There are many opportunities that I care about deeply, with the realization that I can support them but some may not be for me to do.
The sands have shifted under me lately, a transformation that has set my feet on solid ground, seeing how the moving sands have swept around me over and over again, creating the circle in which I now stand. From this place, I walked right into the hunting party where I belong. It was new to me, yet it was what I always yearned for. The fire was lighted, and then they were on the path right in front of me.
When we remember, it is not an accident. It matters that we remember. If it were true that we brought our gifts with us, would it make sense that it was important to remember?
Yes.
