Hunterdon Gains Over $1 Million NJ Transit Grant For County-wide
LINK Transport System
Hunterdon County’s LINK bus program is in line for an additional $1,084,616 in funding, through a NJ Transit grant approved by the County’s Board of Freeholders, at the August 4th meeting.

Freeholder Board Deputy Director Sue Soloway, the Board’s liaison for the Department of Human Services, stated, “We all know the LINK bus operation is vital for many county residents, particularly our senior community.

At the January re-organization meeting I stated it was a chief goal for 2020 to seek increased grant funding to support the LINK system, in order to lower the county’s cost share of the program. The NJ Transit grant award helps to meet that goal.”

Hunterdon County Gains Road Improvement Grant Funds
Hunterdon County has been awarded $4,062,485 in Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) grant funding by the state Department of Transportation (DOT) for county road projects in state fiscal year 2021, Freeholder Zach Rich reported at a recent Freeholder Board meeting.

Freeholder Rich, the Board’s liaison for the Department of Public Works and Engineering, stated, “The Engineering Division has again been successful in gaining approval of these funds for projects identified in the County’s Annual Transportation Program (ATP). The TTF funding has great value to our taxpayers, as it provides a significant cost share for maintaining safe roads for the county’s residents and other travelers.”
