Parashat Toldot:
And Esau said to his father, "Have you [but] one blessing, my father? Bless me too, my father." And Esau raised his voice and wept. And his father Isaac answered and said to him, "Behold, your dwelling place shall be the fat places of the earth and of the dew of the heaven from above. And you shall live by your sword, and you shall serve your brother, and it will be, when you grieve, that you will break his yoke off your neck."
Parashat Vayetzei:
And Rachel and Leah replied and said to him, "Do we still have a share or an inheritance in our father's house? Are we not considered by him as strangers, for he sold us and also consumed our money? But all the wealth that God separated from our father is ours and our children's. So now, all that God said to you, do."So Jacob rose, and he lifted up his sons and his wives upon the camels.

From the desk of our
S.T.E.A.M. Lab
Fall has taken over STEAM! Our lower school students have learned how the earth's tilt and rotation around the sun create each of our four seasons. They learned why the leaves change colors and what the leaves give to the trees. They extracted chlorophyll from different color leaves to see which color has the most chlorophyll, allowing us to also review the scientific method. The students also learned that Texas is on the migration path for many birds. They learned what migration is and why it happens in the fall, finishing up the lesson by making bird feeders to help migrating birds find food on their way south. Our ECE students investigated the changes we are seeing outside as fall nears its end. They used squirrels, pumpkins and leaves to practice math concepts such as number recognition, counting, and shape sorting. ECE students also discussed what kind of preparations are being made by animals, people, and plants during the fall months so they may be ready for the colder winter months.

English Colonies
Eighth-graders are utilizing digital technology to learn and teach each other about life in the early English Colonies. The lesson challenged students to dig up artifacts from our nation's Colonial past, then print 3D models of those artifacts in RMBA's BIMA lab. Next, each student researched the artifacts and wrote about their usage in Colonial society. Displaying their artifact models and research together in a presentation, the students will tell the story of early English Colonies in what would become the United States of America.
