We had a wonderful outdoor worship yesterday. Pastor Kevin preached "The Beatitudes."
Please continue to share in worshiping together online and taking advantage of the abundant resources our ministers are making available to you.
We hope you will join us next Sunday as Pastor Michael will continue our Be Happy sermon series with a sermon titled "Happy Life."
Happy Life (Matthew 5)
Happy Pathway (Psalm 1)
Happy Finances (1 Timothy 6)
Happy Marriage (Ephesians 5)

During this series we are going to explore how to find Happiness in an Unhappy World. We will talk about how to be happy in your marriage, happy with your finances, and happy even in difficult situations. And we will find that ultimate happiness is not found in a what... but a Who. I hope you will join me for this pursuit of happiness.
We have enjoyed the outdoor worship services as they have been lifegiving to our church during this unique season.

To enable us to continue having outdoor services as we encounter cooler fall temperatures, beginning October 11th our new Sunday Morning Worship Service Time will be 10:30We think this will make for a better experience and encourage even more people to attend in person.

In person Adult Sunday School classes can choose to meet at 9:00 or 11:30. Both indoor and outdoor options are available.

Youth Sunday School will take place Sunday mornings at 9:00 and youth gatherings will continue at the Huffman Pavilion on Sunday evenings at 6:30.

We are excited to announce that Children’s Worship will return beginning October 11th. K-5th grade will meet in the Fellowship Hall and Preschoolers will meet in the nursery each Sunday at 10:30 beginning October 11th. Preschool & children's check in will remain in the Fellowship Hall. Parents dropping off either age groups will still need to enter door #8 and exit door #1. Children's pick up will be at door #1 and preschool pickup will move to door #8. The reservation link to register you children and preschoolers will be available after this week's service.
Can't make it to the in person service? Stream the service LIVE on our church Facebook page at 10:30 and on demand anytime after that.

No Facebook login is required to view the stream.

The service can be viewed on our website, however, our Facebook Page offers a superior experience, a better connection, better quality, and it allows you to share comments and prayer requests. Please click on this link to be taken to the Facebook page. And remember, you do not need to have a Facebook account to view the service.

Please contact the church office if you have questions. Sermon notes and bulletin will be available in the Friday Reminder email and shared on the Facebook Page.
Join us Wednesday at 6:30 on the church Facebook Page as Pastor Will leads a devotion, takes your prayer requests, and guides our church in a time of prayer.
Please continue to give your tithes and offerings to support the work of our church. The easiest way is to set up recurring giving at versaillesbaptist.org/givingYou can make a one-time offering or set up an account for recurring giving. You can also give by text by texting GIVE to 859-800-3125.

Autumn & Jake
Mrs. Autumn had a BEAUTIFUL wedding to Jake Thompson on September 13, in Virginia. We are so excited for them and look forward to welcoming Jake to Versailles! We are planning a drive-by shower for them on October 18th from 2-4pm. We hope you will be able to stop by entrance #1 (church office) and honor the new couple!
Sunday School Groups
Many of our Sunday School groups have been able to "meet" each week by way of video chatting through Zoom. While this is no substitute for gathering face to face, it has been so encouraging for many to stay connected.

If you are not part of a Sunday School group already, please let Jonathan know, and he will get you connected with one! While you may feel like it would be better to wait to join a group, we believe the connection our groups provide people make this an excellent time to join.
Devotionals for you and your family
We have great resources and devotional books that can be picked up outside the office. We have some available for individuals and for families. These books are discounted to $5 and money can be placed in the donation slot on the wall.

Offering Envelopes for 2021
We will be ordering 2021 offering envelopes for anyone who wants to use them; please tell Diane Baker by Nov. 1 if you want a box of weekly envelopes. In the past, we repeated the order for anyone who was already using them, but this year many of you have stopped using your envelopes because you are giving online or mailing your offerings.
Unless you request a box for 2021, you will not receive a new set of envelopes.
You can reach Diane at [email protected] or by calling the church office at 873-7338.
We’re so sorry to announce that we won’t be hosting Trunk or Treat this year. Unfortunately, limitations due to COVID mean we can’t serve the community a meal, and without the space or ability to start new conversations with visiting families, we don’t see this event as having the gospel and missional impact that we usually have.

The CDC has strongly advised against large Trunk or Treat events, as these activities could contribute to the spread of COVID. Other local churches and event venues have decided to cancel their fall festivities as well.

While this is a difficult decision to make, we hope to do all that we can to keep our church family and Woodford County community healthy and safe.

In place of Trunk or Treat we will have cards available that outline the gospel and provide information about Versailles Baptist to share with neighbors or hand out during trick-or-treating. You can pick up these printed materials at the Welcome Tent on Sunday, October 25th or come by the church office any time the following week.
Join us for a spooktacular pumpkin decorating party at Huffman Pavilion October 14th at 6:30. This will be a fun event for families and kids as we play some games, decorate pumpkins, and hear a short devotion from Ms. Autumn!
Join us as we start back in the Gospel Project for Kids! For the month of October we will be learning about "Jesus the Teacher" and answering the question, "Why did God create people?" Each week a kids video will be added to our website for you to use as a family devotion with kids. Additionally, every Wednesday night we will have a Zoom session for kids to dive deeper into that week's Bible story, pray together, play games, and sing praises!
Kids Discipleship Zoom
No Kids Zoom this week due to fall break! Enjoy time with your family. We will resume Kids Discipleship Zoom on Wednesday, October 21st.
Mission of Hope Scholarship
Because our Church team is not making the Back to School Mission trip this fall, some of you may still want to help in another way. One way is to consider donating to help with the Mission of Hope Scholarship Program. For the 12th consecutive year, the MOH is awarding $2500 Scholarships to 15 new graduating high school seniors, 1 Alice Lloyd Student, 1 Lincoln Memorial U. (TN), and 2 Clear Creek Bible College students, for a total of 19 NEW Scholarships (Total-$47000). These are renewable scholarships, so this equals 52 Scholars on active Scholarship. This is a total of $130,000 needed for scholarships each year. With contributions slowing down this year, your help is greatly needed. If you would like to help with this program, you may donate online or by check. Any amount will be gratefully received. Just drop off a check in the offering slot in the church office hallway, made to Versailles Baptist Church. (Memo to Mission of Hope Scholarship) or give online and select the Mission of Hope Scholarship from the drop-down menu.

The Mission of Hope has many programs other than Back to School, Christmas, and Scholarships. They help families with food, housing, furniture, and transportation, to name a few. Please consider helping, financially, this program in it's time of need.
Mission of Hope
To all those who have volunteered in past years to make the mission trip to Letcher Co. Elementary for the Mission of Hope, the Mission to Letcher Co. will not be made this year, due, of course, to the Pandemic.

Thankfully, the folks at Mission of Hope in Knoxville will be delivering the school supplies to all 30 of the schools they serve. The faculty and staffs at each school will have to help distribute the supplies to the students. Of course, no decisions will be made concerning Christmas until later in the year. Thanks to all those who have helped with this mission in the past. We pray that this virus that has turned our lives upside down will be coming to an end soon.
Food Pantry Need
The Food Pantry for Woodford County is remaining in operation and could use our help for supplies. This is a difficult time for many and we want to help. The Food Pantry has a NEED of peanut butter. They are NOT in need of green beans or corn. Drop off donations at the church Monday - Friday 8-5 pm. Please leave donations in the hallway outside of the office.
