Rebuilding Together: Our Story
We invite you to watch our latest video. Here at Rebuilding Together we're not just rebuilding homes and providing a safe and healthy space for our homeowners, but we're rebuilding pride, we're rebuilding community, and we're rebuilding the future. We hope you enjoy.

#givingtoSTAY
With Thanksgiving a few days away, many of you are
preparing last minute recipe ideas, finalizing travel plans, and stocking up on family favorite snacks. While we hope your Thanksgiving will be relaxing and well spent with loved ones, we anticipate that many will be eagerly awaiting the shopping days that follow-- Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday.

Following the days of eating Thanksgiving leftovers and shopping around town comes #GivingTuesday, an international day of philanthropic giving where thousands of non-profits seek donations to further their cause. Instead of focusing all of our efforts around one day of giving, RTMC invites you to participate in #givingtoSTAY - a campaign developed around building our recurring donor base.

We hope you will consider becoming a recurring donor to RTMC, by setting up a monthly, or quarterly, donation through our secure online giving platform. A monthly gift to RTMC has a smaller impact on your wallet each month, but a more substantial, sustaining, impact on our organization. Your gift helps our elderly clients safely age in place, it helps families overcome the burden of choosing between putting food on the table or repairing a leak in the roof, it helps our veterans feel at home again, and most importantly, it helps all of our low-income homeowners stay in their homes and live in a safe and healthy space.

To set up your recurring gift and become a Foundation Builder, or to make a one-time donation, please visit our website or click the button below

Tax Credits for RTMC Donors!
If you are a Maryland resident or a business located in the state, then your gift to RTMC could qualify you for an additional 50% tax credit from the state - on top of your standard state and federal charitable tax deduction. The tax credits were made available to RTMC's donors through the Maryland Community Investment Tax Credit program. Because we have a limited amount of tax incentives available, we'd encourage you to make the most of your charitable donations today!

To qualify to be eligible for the tax credit, donors total giving to RTMC must be greater than $500.00 for this calendar year. If you have any questions, please contact Elisa Hermes at [email protected] or at 301-947-9400 x101.
Corporate Partners Volunteer with RTMC
Kelley Drye & Freddie Mac
On Saturday, October 28th, over 20 volunteers came together to work on the home of a RTMC client in Bethesda, MD. Volunteers wasted no time as they began hauling clutter and debris to the street, while others worked on cleaning and stripping the flooring in the kitchen.

Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers, our client felt safer, happier, and healthier at the end of the day. For more photos from the project, please check out our Facebook page.
The Donaldson Group
Last Wednesday, a brave group from The Donaldson Group made their way to Takoma Park to work on the home of Ms. Mills, despite the cold weather. The volunteers quickly got to work inside and out, by clearing debris, painting, and renovating a bathroom. Ms. Mills worked alongside the group of volunteers and was astonished by work that was completed by the end of the day.

Thanks to The Donaldson Group, Ms. Mills is now able to reside in a safer, healthier, and happier home for years to come. For more photos from the project day, please check out our Facebook page

Policy Alert: Proposed Tax Reform Will Erode Quality of Life in Maryland
Our quality of life in Maryland depends on federal and state budgets necessary for a modern infrastructure, great education, clean air and water, and reinvestment in communities. Jobs are created when towns embrace the arts, create recreation for tourism and health, act strategically for better housing and reducing vacancies, train our workforce for new technology, and enable us to invest in green energy, new construction, and a better future. Investments from all three sectors - businesses, nonprofits and government - are needed to get resources aligned to build a strong and thriving economy.

Nonprofit organizations are major contributors to Maryland's economy, accounting for 9.3% of all jobs in Maryland and contributing billions in social benefit impact. The tax bill introduced, will directly impact 30% of nonprofit revenue in areas critical to thriving families and communities: housing, environment, arts, transportation, child welfare, health, disabilities, and civil rights.

Public interest networks across the country are still making sense of the tax package and some initial analysis is available from the National Council of Nonprofits and the United Way Worldwide.

To learn more and get involved in advocating for a federal and a Maryland budget that invests in our communities and a thriving economy, join Maryland Nonprofit on January 8, 2018 for their Legislative Preview.
