City News Update
City Operations
The next City Council meeting will be on Tuesday, February 22 at 7:30pm, following the Council Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled to begin at 6:30pm. Both meetings will be streamed live and can be accessed on the City’s YouTube channel. The agenda can be found on the City's website. Gail Larson Appointment
During the February 7 Cleveland Heights City Council Meeting, City Council appointed Gail Larson to fill the seat of now Mayor Kahlil Seren. Larson’s swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for February 22nd during the City Council meeting.

Presidents’ Day
All city offices including Cleveland Heights City Hall, Cleveland Heights Community Center and Cleveland Heights Municipal Court will be closed on Monday, February 21, in celebration of Presidents' Day. Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed by one day after the holiday.

Tax Season Is Here
Cleveland Heights municipal income tax is collected by the Regional Income Tax Agency, also known as RITA. RITA is now offering taxpayers online filing, file by mail, and drop-off services (PDF) for all of your tax documents. To find out more information and resources visit ritaohio.com.

Cain Park Festival Applications
Cain Park is accepting applications for the 2022 Cain Park Arts Festival, which is scheduled to take place July 8-10, 2022. Application deadline is March 4.

Heights Youth Sports
Registration for the 2022 Heights Youth Baseball League; Girls' Softball League, and the Spring Recreation Youth Soccer Academy is now open. Register in-person at the Cleveland Heights Community Center or online at chparks.com.

Thank You Cleveland Heights!
The Cleveland Heights Green Team, in partnership with the City of Cleveland Heights and the Heights Libraries, recycled 1,200 pounds of holiday string lights and cords. Recycling proceeds were handed to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's "Lights for Lions" conservation initiative, which promotes the preservation of felines through the Ruaha Carnivore Project and Lion Landscapes programs in East Africa.

Heights High’s Wins TikTok Grant
The Heights High Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) have been awarded the National Parent-Teacher Association Connect + TikTok Grant, sponsored by TikTok. Heights High is 1 of 40 winners across the country and the only group selected from Ohio. This grant will provide the PTSA $1,000 to host a family-centered conversation on digital kindness, safety, and responsibility within the high school community.

Art for the Masses
Join ARTFUL at Coventry PEACE Campus (2843 Washington Boulevard, Cleveland Heights), on February 26 from 11am to 5pm for their Art for the Masses Art Fair. Local artists will be on site selling their unique works for $200 or less. Artists interested in selling their art are welcome to join. To find out more, visit artfulcleveland.org
