MRS. JOHNSON'S NOTES
Dear Parents,

Students have been busy reading this week and taking accelerated reader tests in the race to one million words! The School Council meeting on Thursday night was informative, and we reviewed the state CCRPI scores and the first interim district assessments. All the information from the meeting is posted on our web page under School Council.

Join us tonight for the PTA Gravity Jump spirit night. Tickets are purchased at the door and pizza will be sold. Come out to support our PTA, and have fun while doing it. Each student that attends earns points for their color stable.

We will celebrate our veterans on Friday morning in our Veteran's Day celebration. We hope you can join us.

We are looking for business partners to support our school. If you have a business, or work for a business that is interested in supporting Head, please see the guidelines attached. We have many projects that we are looking to fund and need your support.

Have a great weekend. Remember to have your child read every night.

Parents - We need your help!!

All Head Elementary parents are encouraged to participate in the GCPS Parent Perception Survey. The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback from parents/guardians about the quality of education that our school is providing.

There are two ways to complete this survey:
1) Parent Portal - From October 21 to November 22, parents logging into the Parent Portal will be prompted to take the survey.
2) Please visit the school to complete the survey (either using a school computer or paper copy).

Your answers will remain confidential. This survey should take 10 minutes or less to complete. Please complete one survey per school where you have one or more students enrolled.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing!

Veteran's Day Program
Mark your calendars for RD Head's annual Veteran's Day Program to be held on November 15th.  A reception will be held at 9 AM to honor our veterans and their families. The program will begin at 9:30 AM.  There will be more information forthcoming in your student's Friday folder with details regarding how to honor your veteran with pictures in our slide show and to RSVP if you are planning on attending the reception.  We look forward to seeing you on the 15th.

RUNNING CLUB
The next running club meets on Tuesday, November 12th. Students stay after school and pickup is promptly at 4:20 PM from the car rider lanes. Please consider donating a case of water to the club. Waters can be left in the lobby at your convenience with Mr. G / Running Club written on it. Thanks.
