Congregation Budget Forum - October 18th - 11:15AM
The Council has prepared a preliminary 2021 Budget which was mailed out to each member. We will be reviewing the budget to gather input to help the Council prepare a final budget at a congregation forum on Sunday, October 18 at 11:15AM via ZOOM. If you do not have a computer or internet, you can still participate via your phone for audio only . ZOOM Call information will be provided closer to this forum.
Please send your ideas, questions, and concerns to feedback@lord-of-love.org by Oct 15 so we can better prepare for the forum. The executive committee and pastor will receive the information you provide to this email address.
REVERSE Trunk of Treat!
colorful_candy.jpg
REVERSE Trunk or Treat will be on Sunday, Oct. 18th at 4pm. Families with children/grandchildren are encouraged to decorate their trunks and dress up in their Halloween costumes. Please sign up if you are at Lord of Love for worship on Oct 11th or contact Miss Heather at heather@lord-of-love.org, if you are bringing children or grandchildren to receive treats at your trunk (decorating is optional). There will be a prize for the best decorated trunk.

NOTE: Due to COVID this is not a community event like last year but smaller for the congregational children & grandchildren.

Adults from the congregation are encouraged to come between 4pm-5pm to vote on best trunk, and leave treats for each participating child. If you plan on bringing treats, participate, or contribute in any way, please email Heather Christensen, heather@lord-of-love.org, or call or email Mary Lou, 402-493-2946, marylou@lord-of-love.org before Thursday morning to let us know, so we can know how many to plan for and let you know how many kids to have goodies for.

*If we are in need of a rain date, we will be looking at Sunday, Oct. 25th, with the same time and plan.

Loads of Love - October 3rd Event Summary
The third 2020 Loads of Love event was held October 3, 2020. Prior to the actual event, flyers had been distributed to several senior living sites, some low income housing sites, and the Holy Cross food pantry. In addition, the event had also been posted on Facebook. 125 bags were filled with laundry soap, toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste and toothbrushes, a soap sac, shampoo/conditioner and deodorant. Diapers and feminine hygiene products were also available to be distributed while supplies lasted.

We distributed 122 bags within 90 minutes  for use by 573 individuals. These bags were given to families from 18 different Omaha zip codes.
The top three zip codes: 68104 (45%), 68134 (18%), 68152 (10.5%)
An overwhelming amount heard about the event from friends or family (62%), while others noted Facebook (21%) or Holy Cross pantry (9%).

This ministry could not be successful without the support of so many at Lord of Love. We want to thank everyone who has donated money or supplies for needy families in our community. A very special appreciation to those who came to help us on a chilly October morning: Pat Wineinger, Jeri Morgan, Dave Lueders, Jesse Brewer, Rex Quadhamer, Gary Ramsay, Bill Morris, Shawn Lorenzen, Evan Van Arsdale, Avah Van Arsdale, Joan Witt, Rose Roberts, and Laura Gehringer and friend. We were definitely blessed by your presence!
