SUPPORTING YOUR KIDS’ LEARNING AT HOME
If you are a parent with a child in school and need help with online learning, check out this video from Lynda.com which you can access with your library card. Learn strategies to help you and your child overcome the challenges that come with home-based online learning.

As parents themselves, Corbin and Kat Anderson share useful tips, tricks, and tools to get you ready for a successful upcoming school year. Some topics include setting up a learning environment, planning a schedule, positive feedback and dialogue with your child, ideas for a reluctant reader, and tips for participating in a live online class.
The Andersons provide many suggestions for free learning tools such as podcasts, apps, audiobooks, and the use Google docs. They also give some creative solutions for staying organized. For example, try making “workboxes” for your child that include everything needed for a particular school assignment or recreational activity.
