Dear Residents -

While most of Memorial Day Weekend was a wash-out, I do hope you were able to get a few days away and attend at least one, if not more, Memorial Day Commemorations. I took part in a wreath laying ceremony in Tappan, for the Carl A. Schelin Post 1271 American Legion. Then headed to Nyack for the Charles R. and Raymond O. Blauvelt/Nyack Post 310 American Legion, where a plaque was dedicated to the memory of retired director of Veterans Service Agency of Rockland County, Jerry Donnellan. Both were very moving ceremonies. I then stopped by the John H. Secor Post 329, to remember their members who lost their lives over the past 24 months.

The staff at Orangetown Parks and Recreation is gearing up for the busy summer months. If the weather continues to behave, they will be showing movies every Friday night through June 18th. In July, they will once again offer their concert series. That schedule will be posted soon. Summer Camp registration is in full swing, so register your child today.

Hudson Valley Humane Society has a microchip clinic scheduled for Saturday, June 12th and Sunday, June 13th. Your dog or cat can have an AKC-Branded microchip implanted for just $30.00 per pet and it includes a lifetime enrollment. And while I am on the subject of the Hudson Valley Humane Society, they have asked that drivers please watch out for the Turtle Migration on Western Highway which takes place through the end of June.

Soon, we'll have our local high schools graduating their seniors. How nice it will be to watch!

Enjoy your weekend everyone and stay safe.

Regards,
Teresa M. Kenny
