We are reaching out in hopes that you will be willing to help us spread the word about our annual Thank a Teacher campaign. Since the Virginia Lottery’s mission is to support our K-12 public schools, each spring we encourage Virginians to send thank you notecards to educators across the Commonwealth in conjunction with National Teacher Appreciation Week. Added bonus: the notecards feature artwork from an elementary, middle school and high school student selected earlier this year through our Thank a Teacher Art Contest.
The public can send a card now through May 7. Teachers will receive their digital cards the week of Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3 – 7. Qualifying teachers who receive a card can enter a unique web code found in the email or on the back of the notecard into an online drawing for one of two Virginia vacations courtesy of the Virginia Lottery as well as $5,000 in credit for their schools from The Supply Room. We will draw the two winners at the end of May and they will be notified in June.
