IMS Picture Day

IMS Picture Days are scheduled for October 20 (Cohort 1) and October 23 (Cohort 2). Your child received a picture day order form in their homeroom, however, it is recommended that you use the online order process at mylifetouch.com. Our picture day ID is EVTQZDBW9.
Student Earbuds/Earphones

Students should be bringing earbuds or earphones to school in case they are needed for class. We are awaiting a shipment of earbuds, and they will be available for purchase in the computer lab for $1 when they arrive.
Textbooks, Core Novels, and Library Books

If your student still has any IMS textbooks, novels, or library books at home from last school year, we are asking that you return them as soon as possible. We would like to have all materials returned by October 31. After that, any families with unreturned items will receive individual invoices.
IMS Attendance Procedures

Tardy
A student who doesn’t check-in by the Homeroom Bell at 8:10 a.m. is considered to be tardy. The student can check-in one of two ways:
  • In-person Check-In: The student will use their iPad to scan the QR Code for Tardy Check-In behind the Main Office’s front counter.
  • A Google form comes up; the student fills out their response and submits. This confirmed response on their iPad becomes their Hall Pass to go to class. A tardy excuse note should be placed in the bin provided.
  • Remote Check-In: The student working remotely on their cohort day can check-in using their iPad and go to the IMS Student Blackboard page and click Tardy Check-In. They will fill out the google form and submit for a timestamp of their tardy check-in. A tardy excuse note should be emailed to imsattendance@northallegheny.org.
  • Please utilize our email address imsattendance@northallegheny.org for reporting early dismissals, tardies, or to submit an absence excuse.

*Excusable reasons are defined in NASD’s Attendance Policy No.204*

Early Dismissals
Please email IMS Attendance (imsattendance@northallegheny.org) to submit an early dismissal, whether returning after an appointment or not returning to class, previous to the dismissal. It is preferable to submit this information before 9:00 a.m the day of the dismissal so that the student’s attendance can be updated.

Absence
Please submit an Absence E-Form on the Tyler Parent Portal so that the student’s absence can be excused. Emailed excuses can also be sent to imsattendance@northallegheny.org.

*Absence excuses should be sent at the parent’s/guardian's earliest convenience to avoid unexcused absence notifications.*
HyFlex Instructional Model

All students should plan to stay home if they are not feeling well to help prevent the spread of the common cold, flu, or other illnesses.

Our new HyFlex instructional model allows the opportunity for all students to participate from outside the building in real-time the same way students sign-in during their hybrid days. Therefore, attendance is still taken and credit is awarded. So, if students are not feeling 100% but well enough to participate remotely, we now have the flexibility and program to do so on any given day of the week. These absences will be monitored by our health staff.

Please notify IMS attendance at imsattendance@northallegheny.org if your child is planning to work remotely on a day they are scheduled for in-school learning.
