Sheila Athens is a published author and a book coach who specializes in mainstream fiction, women's fiction and romance. In addition to her own private book coaching practice, she coaches writers and mentors book-coaches-in-training at Author Accelerator, the nation's premiere book coaching company. Her debut novel, The Truth About Love, has been published in three languages. She stays current on the publishing landscape by serving as chairperson for the Women's Fiction Writers Association Agent Pitch Events. For more about Sheila, visit

After her presentation, we will have a flash fiction exercise. Bring in 750 words or less that involve a New Years Resolution. Yours, someone else's., completely fictional. Make is serious or humorous, an essay or poem. Please no politics or religion. WE will read out loud for fun - no critiquing the last 30 minutes.

Joe Eckstein is a children's book author, illustrator, and cartoonist who loves to encourage and inspire people through art and stories.
Originally from Ohio and drawing and writing stories since he can remember, he has a Bachelor's degree in fine art from Bowling Green State University and has worked as an illustrator for leading children's education publisher Carson-Dellosa. His work has been published in books, greeting cards, magazines, and newspapers.
He will be demonstrating how to make your covers stand out from the crowd. The do and don't of cover design. And talk about using an illustrator for your picture books. Joe's Website
After his presentation, we will have two, five minute readings from members' own works. There is a sign-up sheet.

Formatting Your Book Using Windows
Rich is a long standing member of MIW, has published 13 thriller novels, and is the Chairman of the Marco Writers Farmers Market. The discussion will start with a normal Word formatted document and how to meet all of the formatting requirements for submission to Amazon for self publishing. Rich will do the presentation using his laptop and some handouts. Contact Rich

About The Series
:
The 100 Years of Thrillers and Chillers Series encompasses reviews of Horror Films from around the world from 1919 to 2019. This is a reference collection with the movies author ranked by genre.
About the Author:
Robert Messier
Robert lives on a canal, in a studio apartment with his loyal cat Hobbit on the Isles of Capri in Southwest Florida. He has been writing most of his life but only recently decided to publish his work. Messier is a past co-chairman of Marco Island Writers, an organization dedicated to and for Writers helping writers in Southwest Florida. He can also be seen working voluntarily for the Marco Island Historical Museum's Summer Film Festival. Besides his 100 Years Horror Film Series, he has also published a nine series collection of Guitar Gods, a Trilogy of Baseball greats titled The Hall of Fame Game Trilogy and one novella, title Seeds
