Kamloops Classic Swimming is Looking for Volunteers for our MJB Law Classic Swim Meet on  December 13 to 15, 2019

Are you a swimming fan?
Do you love helping out groups in your community?
Are you looking to add some volunteer experience to your resume?
No matter your reason we would love to have your help at our swim meet.

Our biggest need for volunteers at our swim meets is for Timers.
Timing is a super easy job. It involves checking the swimmer into your lane. You then watch them race and ensure you push the plunger as the swimmer turns at the wall and when the swimmer hits the wall at the end of the race. For long distance events, there is a requirement to count the lengths and let the swimmer know when they are on the last 50 meters by ringing a bell.   Physical requirements are standing and sitting, ability to slightly lean over the ledge to see the swimmer touch the wall.   There is an orientation session at the start of each session, so no worries if you are new to the role.   We will pair new timers with experienced timers. We are also happy to pair friends together to time.   Anyone 13 years and older can time.

Have some experience with competitive swimming, looking to hone your skills at swim meets?   We could use a few volunteers who want to learn stroke and turn judging or how the electronics timing system works.

We provide some great food for our volunteers during the sessions.
Come spend some time in a welcoming environment

We need volunteers for the following sessions:

Friday December 13, 2019 from 7:45 am to approximately 1:30 pm
Friday December 13, 2019 from 3:45 pm to approximately 8:00 pm

Saturday December 14, 2019 from 7:45 am to approximately 1:30 pm
Saturday December 14, 2019 from 3:45 pm to approximately 8:00 pm

Sunday December 15, 2019 from 7:45 am to approximately 12:00 pm
Sunday December 15, 2019 from 1:45 pm to approximately 6:30 pm

We are happy to have you come out for a single session or multiple sessions.

Did you Know?

To help all Canadians enjoy and reach their potential in sport and physical activity, you need to apply a rational, progressive Long-Term Development framework.
The following Key Factors are the basis of that Long-Term Development framework. They operate at three levels: the individual (Personal Factors), each sport and physical activity-supporting organization (Organizational Factors) and across the Canadian system as a whole ( S ystem Factors).
