10 Years With Kasia Niszcz Managing Student Accounts

Kasia is passionate about student development and devoted to helping them reach their full potential. Prior to working with IHN, she pursued an education at the University of Warsaw and Teachers College in Warsaw, Poland. After graduating with honours from both programs, she obtained a Diploma in Early Education and a Master’s Degree in Pedagogy. Kasia worked as a teacher, instructing students aged 7-11. After 5 years of employment at an elementary school, emigration to Canada brought significant life changes. To adapt to her new environment, Kasia added a diploma with honours in Computerized Accounting from the Toronto School of Business.

In 2011 the stars aligned and her two main life components were joined: the creative art of crunching numbers and education. Kasia is IHN’s Tuition and Accounting Administrator, where she ensures all accounting procedures comply with internal and external regulations and policies. She is responsible for balancing student accounts, keeping detailed financial records, and excels in managing specialized computer programs and software. In her 20 years of bookkeeping and accounting, Kasia remains dedicated as an educator, leader and adventurer in her many roles with the Polish Scouting Association.

Interactions Between Gut Microbiota & The Endocannabinoid System

Researchers uncovered another therapeutic use for cannabis in those suffering from IBD, aside from relieving pain. Studies show, in a September 6, 2020, Healthing article (4 minute read), “How Cannabis Can Help Fight Chronic Gut Problems”, that cannabis is a useful anti-inflammatory that acts differently in those with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Known for its bite, stinging nettle is a perennial herb originating from Europe. Touching nettle leaves results in localized itching, redness, and swelling. Despite this, humans have been using this plant for thousands of years as medicine. Stinging nettle is a nutrient-dense leafy green that is rich in minerals and vitamins A, C and K. Nettles contain all the essential amino acids and the leaves contain pigments called carotenoids, which help turn the egg yolk yellow when fed to laying hens. We recommend this recipe for Simple Spring Stinging Nettle Frittata from IHN graduate Kristin Price.
