Newport Newport Transportation Study Public Workshop
If you live, work or play near the Town of Newport you are invited to share your ideas for improving transportation in and near the town during a Public Workshop being held on Monday, January 27 at the Old Town Hall, 15 N. Augustine Street from 5:30pm to 8pm with a presentation at 6pm. 

During the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to provide feedback on the study that will develop recommendations for projects that will improve the safety, walkability, and transit-friendliness of the Town of Newport. GovPrintzGovernor Printz Boulevard Visioning Workshop
You are invited to share your ideas for improving Governor Printz Boulevard during a Public Visioning Workshop being held  on Wednesday, January 29.

The workshop will be held at the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company (1006 Brandywine Blvd, Wilmington, DE 19809), with open house displays from 5-6 p.m., and a presentation with group discussion from 6-7:30 p.m. Your feedback will be critical to learn local preferences, needs, and concerns. BrandywineDraft Brandywine Creek Greenway Plan and Map  
You are invited to share your thoughts on the Draft Brandywine Creek Greenway Plan and Map. The draft Concept Plan and Map outlines a vision for a conservation corridor, a "greenway," centered on Brandywine Creek and the lands around it in Northern Delaware. This plan was developed based on input from partners, community outreach, and analysis of the natural, historic, and recreational amenities in New Castle County and the City of Wilmington.

BikeDelaware Ranked Among Top Bicycle Friendly States
According to a DelDOT news release, "DelDOT has announced that the League of American Bicyclists (LAB) has ranked Delaware as the 6th most bicycle friendly state in the nation. Delaware was previously ranked 7th in the previous report issued in 2017 and has ranked in the top ten since 2012. The Bicycle Friendly State ranking provides a ranking for all 50 states based on four public data sources and a Bicycle Friendly State survey that is answered by each state's Department of Transportation and/or a statewide bicycle advocacy organization. The Dover/Kent County MPO has announced an update to its Long-Range Regional Transportation Plan, Innovation 2045.  The plan identifies a long-range vision of transportation for the county for the next 25 years. USBikeRoutesUS Bike Route System Expands
According to the Adventure Cycling Association, "The US Bicycle Route System (USBRS) now includes 27 States and over 14,000 Miles. The USBRS is developing a national network of officially recognized, numbered, and signed bicycle routes. Digital maps for all designated U.S. Bicycle Routes are available for free." NightPedNighttime Ped Fatalities Rise
According to the State Smart Transportation Initiative, "while other crash types have gone down, pedestrian and bicycle crashes continue to rise, and crashes happening at night account for 90% of the increase in pedestrian fatalities in the last 10 years. Between 2017 and 2018, nighttime pedestrian fatalities increased 4.6% and nighttime bicyclist fatalities increased 9.2%."
