Letter from the President

Hi Team,

Here we are in May and the momentum and energy is building as we continue racing and training together. It was so nice to have the team tent out at Belews and see so many friendly faces. The team rocked it with many participants and podiums.

Next race is TriTown! We will have the tent out to support our team. Come out and race or volunteer.

We are working on trying to get the TriNow clinic going again this year, right now dates are Sept. 10-12, mark your calendar, more details will be coming soon.

Athlete of the Month

Jason O’Briant

Say "hi" to Jason!

Meet our team mate, Jason! Jason is not new to triathlon, he has been participating in races for 30+years! His first triathlon was in 1989, and was the Friends of the Youth Biathlon, Guilford College. While training and working out Jason says he listens to "90's rock", who doesn't like to rock out to some Pearl Jam! His favorite mantra is, "Some days you eat bear, some days the bear eats you." Well said Jason!

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

From Chef Keith Gardiner

Very Berry Romanoff

Ingredients:

4 C assorted fresh berries

Topping:

½ cup whipping cream

½ cup sour cream

3 Tbs brown sugar

3 Tbs sugar

1 Tbs vanilla

Method:

Whip cream slightly and add sugar, continue to whip to stiff peak
Mix sour cream, brown sugar and vanilla together and then fold whipped cream into mixture
To serve alternate layers of berries and cream mixture in a glass.
