Library service came to our area in the 1930s thanks to the dedication and hard work of the local Women's Institute. Today the
North Kawartha Public Library has 2 branches to serve the needs of our residents.
The Main branch
is located in Apsley next to the North Kawartha Health Centre. It is open year round, 5 days a week and offers a wide variety of services including books, DVDs, computer courses, children's programming, maintaining local historical records and free high speed public internet access.
The Woodview branch
is located at 66 Northey's Bay Road at the Wilson Park Community Centre, in the southern part of our Township and is open year round three days a week. This branch also offers books and DVDs as well as free high speed public internet access.
Both locations offer free, "always on" wireless internet access, a very popular service for both our year round and seasonal residents.

Adult Volleyball
Adult Volleyball for male and female adults (ages 18 and up) is played on Monday nights, from 7 pm to 9 pm, at The Apsley Public School (238 Burleigh Street, Apsley ON K0L 1A0).
This is a wonderful opportunity for North Kawartha residents to share both pleasantry and exercise in a comfortable, clean, new, public school gymnasium, once each week through the long winter months and into Spring.
Both experienced and non-experienced players will enjoy the time shared in competitive but affable moments!
