Check out below for a message from the Y@C Planning Team

Dear ECCT Clergy and Youth Ministers,

Greetings! I am reaching out to you on behalf of the ECCT Youth @ Convention planning team.

As convention has gone online this year, so has Y@C, and we are excited to have the voice of our youth as part of our convention in this new and exciting way. We invite you to share the invitation below with high school age youth, their parents and other youth leaders in your parish.

If you think you may have youth interested in joining Y@C or you would like to volunteer to help out as a youth mentor – please email Robbie Laughton at associate@trinitysouthport.org.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Y@C Planning Team

Order your Cathedral Yard Sign Today!

Our signs are already in some homes in Hartford and West Hartford!

Since you are not able to visit 45 Church Street, our Cathedral could visit you in some ways! We have made a replica of our fence sign and are making it available to those who would like to share God’s love with your neighborhood.

The sign, portraying our Presiding Bishop and noting our Cathedral ‘s website shares a well-known message from Bishop Curry “ Love is the Way” . In a time when we are facing two pandemics, Covid-19 and Racism, love is the only way forward.

Would you like a sign? Canon Jorge and I are ready to drop it off, place it in your front yard and wave hello to you and yours! Please email me at lina.howell@cccathedral.org or call at 860-305-7604.    We are asking for a good will donation of $ 17.00 per sign to cover its cost.  Please mail your checks payable to Christ Church Cathedral or donate online visiting our website at www.cccathedral.org

CHURCH STREET EATS
By Theresa Greaves, CSE Co-Convener
October 4, 2020

Homecoming Sunday October 4, Nancy Concepcion and family purchased, prepared and served the meal for our guests. They set-up 64 bagged meals consisting of baked ziti with meatballs, a Kings Hawaiian roll, and garden salad. Louis baked a sour cream cake for dessert. Bottled water and spiced hot chocolate completed the meal.

Jon Lynch from St. Alban's, Simsbury, came and did his regular monthly deep clean of the kitchen which we surely appreciate.

We were able to offer hand sanitizer refills and disposable masks to anyone who needed.
CHURCH BY THE POND
By Nancy Jacobs, Lay Coordinator
October 3, 2020

Seventeen of us gathered in prayer in Bushnell Park this afternoon. It seems the birds were gathering to celebrate St. Francis since Lilly Pond's heron finally returned and the pigeons were in full flight mode.

Rev. Linda Spiers led our prayers and offered a reflection on the Gospel. She spoke of the ever changing Kingdom of God. The kingdom in Jesus' time isn't exactly like ours. Ours, in the age of Covid, isn't exactly like it was. But still it is God's Kingdom.

Prayers were offered for all suffering from Coronavirus, the president and first lady, in particular, for firefighters who have sacrificed with their lives, for students and teachers, for the economy. We offered thanks and asked for God's mercy.

Trinity United Methodist Church provided lunches for 35 guests on this lovely afternoon.
We thank you for your ongoing support to God's Mission. Your pledge may be send via snail mail to our Cathedral ( Cathedral at 45 Church Street Hartford, CT 06103). You may also visit our website to make your pledge or donations or simply click below.

Christ Church Cathedral serves the entire Episcopal Church in Connecticut community for the good of the whole, and is the seat of the bishops. It is "our cathedral." Our Cathedral hosts four congregations in one worshiping community. It's not a parish, as its role is unique in the diocese (see 2015 task force report & resolution). In this its centennial year, Cathedral leaders and Centennial Committee members wish to remind all Episcopalians in CT that by virtue of their membership in a parish, they are members of our Cathedral. All are welcome at any time, and in particular, invited to these events .
