AUSTIN CODY & JUAN CAMACHO
Music is connection. Music is communication. Music is worship. On May 30th the choirs will perform, instrumentalists will play, and we will have guest performances from members of the congregation. On this day we take the time to acknowledge the unique role that music plays in our lives.

MICHELE TOWNSEND GROVE
Our world frames perfection as a quality to which we should all aspire. Yet, it is possible that our quest for perfection squelches our self-esteem, creativity, and ability to fully relate to others? Join us for this worship service where we will explore our addiction to perfection and the possible opportunities that are before us when we alter our quest for perfection for a quest for authentic living.

Please consider donating to the Little Free Pantries run by Julie Laut and AJ Herzog, which they have kept active daily since late spring. In order to address increased and unique needs this winter, they have created an Amazon wish list. All items will be delivered to Julie's house and shared between the two pantries. Donations of all items will continue to be accepted as usual at both locations, if you want to bring them in person.
Thank you for your support and generosity ~ Julie and AJ

From Sharon Neufer Emswiler: Tom and I are delighted that he came home on Thursday from Meadowbrook! We give our thanks to the staff and to the UUCUC congregation for your care and concern during his long time of hospitalization and rehabilitation. It has been greatly appreciated!
From Emily Miller: I celebrated 90 days free from my drug of choice, alcohol, yesterday on May 15th. Also: I found out last Saturday afternoon that my paternal grandfather “Papa Bob” is in the only 3rd-degree ICU/hospital burn ward in Phoenix. Further news came out in the evening that his condition is critical, pneumonia/sepsis among other possibly devastating conditions, and although it isn’t COVID related, he’s on a ventilator now. Per family, he was completely himself on Friday. I’m flying out of Indy to try to see him for what could very well be the last time and for the first time as a woman. Prayers for a miracle for this man and for myself and blood family are deeply appreciated.
From the Pitcel Family: Sorrow for the Pitcel family as our long-term foster placement has been moved to a facility with higher care. We are hopeful that she will receive the care that she needs and become the best version of herself.
From Lynn Wiley: A joy to spring and sunshine and the uplifting and hope felt in seeing our city, county and state begin to emerge from the pandemic. Thank you to all the health professionals that made this happen and to all who joined together to observe safe practices to help everyone in our community remain healthy. Now is the time to rejoice!
From Peggy Patten & Todd Kinney: Sorrow for the recent death of Paul Wirth. As the longtime owner of Urbana's Iron Post, a popular live music venue, Paul greatly enriched our local music scene. He will be missed by musicians & music lovers alike.
Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service. They will be read aloud.

UUCUC Social Action Offering. Each month a selected organization is chosen to receive offerings from our congregation. You may donate to the social action offering for the month in one of the following ways:
|
|
During the month of May, we will support Equal Justice Initiative through our social action offering. Founded in 1989, the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) is a private, nonprofit organization that provides legal representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons. They challenge the death penalty and excessive punishment and provide re-entry assistance to formerly incarcerated people.

|
RECENT SHARED OFFERINGS
During the month of April 2021, Prairie Rivers Network was selected to be the recipient of the shared offering. As of May 11, the UUCUC congregation contributed a total of $2,420!
