The Rescue for PTSD Spring Newsletter
A Message from Our Board
2020 has been a very busy year so far! Our first service dog  Tuve had her 1-year check in and we are so happy that she and her veteran Jeff are doing so well! We currently have four dogs in full training ( Honor, Dallas, Mikey & Apollo ), our monthly group lesson program has exceeded all expectations and we starred in a commercial for Chevron !

We are also excited to welcome our new volunteers and fosters  Ken, Michelle, Carlynn and Stephanie   to the team! We couldn't do what we do without our amazing volunteers and fosters! To learn more about our new team members, please click   here .
HAILEY Update
DALLAS Update
Hailey has been with her USMC Veteran Jason, for 6 months now and we couldn't be happier for them. Hailey has fit right in to his family and they are making a wonderful team! We can't wait to see them again for their 1-year check-in this coming September!
We are thrilled to share that our THIRD service dog and his Marine Corps Veteran are ready for to be reunited! Jeremy and his family recently came to visit and work with Dallas, and now the time has come for Dallas to go home. He has earned his Canine Good Citizen certificate, passed the Public Access Test and is ready to be at Jeremy's side full time!
HONOR Update
Honor is the newest and youngest addition to The Rescue for PTSD. She was donated to us on Valentine’s Day by a generous group of patrons who bid on her at the Kiss for the Cure event benefitting The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Honor is being trained as part of what we hope will become a fantastic new Partnership with  The Belles of Houston  & The  Lone Survivor Foundation . You can learn more about Honor on her webpage here .
Monthly Group Lesson Program Update:
Our monthly group lessons are a hit! We now have 12 Veterans and their canine partners participating! This program is so popular that we have decided to hold lessons twice a month to ensure everyone gets 1-on-1 time with our fantastic trainer Sam from Working Paws K9 Training .

Three of our teams have received their AKC STAR puppy certificates ( Brad & Bella, Beaux & Lady and Cliff & Bravo ) and Andrew & Anubis got their AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate! We have also adopted two dogs for Veterans in this program who did not already have a companion ( Mikey & Apollo ). They are currently in training with Laura & Sam until the current health crisis is over, learning good obedience and getting started on their service skills.
If you or anyone you know is a military Veteran suffering with PTSD and feels a service dog could help, please contact us.  Call, email, or submit an online inquiry form – we look forward to helping you!
