ECC Families,

Good evening. It always amazes me how quickly the weather can change in Missouri! I also can't believe how quickly the month of October is passing us by. I hope lots of you are thinking up great ideas for the pumpkin decorating contest coming up next week! As we move through this month we have lots going on. This week Nona the scarecrow from Faulkner's Ranch will visit us again on Tuesday and Wednesday in place of our regular field trip to the ranch. We will be keeping an eye on the forecast since it looks like we might be getting some rain on both of those days. If the weather does not cooperate we will just have to get creative on where we make our pumpkin patch inside. Also don't forget if you purchased a pass for the OLP 8th graders Halloween Spooktacular it is this Friday. Make sure to read over your information about the event things are different this year and there are some rules about when you have to be in the parking lot and when you can leave. If you have any questions just send me an email. Next week will be our classroom Halloween parties. Make sure to contact your child's teacher regarding dressing up in their costume. We would normally have our Scholastic Book Fair going on during the Halloween parties but instead of an in person fair this year we will be doing everything virtually. Look for a separate email to go out this week explaining how this year's book fair will work. By October 30 all students will have their first developmental assessment sent home. This will be the first of three so keep in mind this first one is just a baseline which we will build upon throughout the school year. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and we will see you on Monday.

God Bless,

Catherine M. Koob
Director

Faulkner's will be coming to Presentation!
Instead of taking our field trip to Faulkner's Ranch this year the ranch is coming to us! Every class will have the opportunity to hear a story read by one of the Faulkner's scarecrows, take a picture with the scarecrow and then head outside to pick out their very own pumpkin from the Presentation Pumpkin Patch. Below you will find the days and schedule for when the classes will participate. Please understand we will not be able to invite families to attend this event. We promise our staff and teachers will get lots of pictures!

Tuesday, October 20 or Wednesday, October 21

Pumpkin Decorating Contest
We would love to see your best pumpkin decorating creation! Decorate a pumpkin as a family and bring it to the ECC for everyone to enjoy. We will vote on 1st place and runner up for each category. More information can be found in the link below.

Halloween Parties 10/29 & 10/30
This year due to visitor restrictions because of COVID we will not be able to have family members attend the Halloween parties. Our teachers will be reaching out to parents to ask for suggestions and donations so we can make sure the parties are still loads of fun for the students! If you have questions about how you can help please contact your child's teacher.
Pray the Rosary
This month is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. We encourage all of our families to take some time during this month to learn about the rosary and pray the rosary. We will be sending home a rosary with each child. Our Pre-K students will be making their rosaries to bring home. We will let you know when they come home so you can be looking for them.
Fall School Pictures are Ready!
Please follow the instructions in the flyer linked below to review your child's fall pictures. The password to view photos is "TooSlow" all one word and case sensitive. If you have any questions or do not see your child's pictures you may contact Sandy Braun at Sandy@sandybraun.com

Pre-K Church Visits
Since we are unable to attend School Mass right now. We have added an additional component to our religious education for the Pre-K classes. Twice a month switching between Wednesday and Thursday or Pre-K classes will go over to Presentation Church for a short session with one of our priests, Fr. Tom or Fr. Emmanuel. We will leave to walk over to the church at 9:00 AM on Wednesday's and 8:50 AM on Thursday's. If your child is not here when we leave to walk over to the church they will need to remain at the preschool until the classes return at 9:30. If you arrive and find you have just missed the classes heading over or if you have a conflict and will arrive during the session you may deliver your child to the church only after calling the preschool to let us know you are planning to walk your child into the church. Then you may enter through the north parking lot doors. We will contact their teacher and make them aware you are coming. These sessions will only last around 20-30 minutes. The dates and topics are listed below. Please be aware dates are subject to change based on the availability of Fr. Tom and Fr. Emmanuel.
