The Farmington Area PTA Council Invites Families to Digital Safety Forum
COVID-19 has changed the way everyone…from the very young to the very old…socializes, sees our families, goes to the doctor, celebrates holidays, learns, plays and works. We are all digital all the time now so it’s important for families to be on the same page about appropriate apps and content, how to interact with others online, and how much screen time is ok. To help your family navigate this new digital age the Farmington Area PTA Council is hosting our first virtual Digital Families event on Dec. 7 at 7:00 p.m. During this interactive virtual event, kids and adults will learn: 1. Which behaviors and skills are needed to safely, respectfully use social media, apps, and other online resources. 2. How to create your family’s technology values, guidelines, and rules roadmap. To join this virtual event which is geared toward 1st-5th grade students and their families please click register by Dec. 4:
Don't miss out! Every household that participates will receive a Digital Safety Starter kit in the mail after the event. Participating households will also be entered in a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card at the end of the event. This National PTA pilot program is made possible with funding from Facebook. The Farmington Area PTA Council is one of four PTA units in the United States chosen to participate in this first of its kind event.
