Art Show
Holy Family University Art Gallery presents 'Free Spirit' by Janet Mackiewicz

Exhibition dates: April 15-August 15, 2014
Artists Reception: Tuesday, April 22, 2014 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Janet Mackiewicz is a graduating art student with two previous degrees from Holy Family University. Her exhibition is a culmination of hard work and dedication to the processes of learning and of experiencing. Please help celebrate this achievement.

Janet has been a fixture on the Holy Family campus since the early '90s. She has a hunger for knowledge that has driven her to earn her bachelors and masters degrees, achieving top honors in both. A lover of nature, Janet dedicates much of her artwork to flora and fauna-particularly birds. The latter led her recently on an adventure of a lifetime.

In November, 2013, she took a month-long voyage with Cornell University's Lab of Ornithology. Traveling by ship from Freetown, Sierra Leone, Janet cruised along West Africa's coast to Monrovia in Liberia before heading southwest of the equator to Ascension Island, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and ending in Patagonia on the Southernmost tip of South America. She encountered new cultures, new inspiration, and new friends. You will see some of the creatures and unusual plant life she came upon reflected in her pieces on display.

Sister Mary Ellen Gemmell  '85, Principal of Nazareth Academy Grade School, invites all HF alumni to consider enrolling their children at NAGS.
