CONNECT WITH PACIFICA
Greetings!

A steady stream of voters have been dropping off their ballots at the Ballot Drop Box located outside of Pacifica City Hall at 170 Santa Maria Avenue. This is a secure drop box serviced directly by San Mateo County Elections staff. Elections Staff have recently increased the frequency of pickups from the Ballot Drop Box location at Pacifica City Hall to three days per week, with pickups now scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Please see this additional information about all of your options for returning and tracking your ballot.

As you begin to think about and make Halloween plans, please familiarize yourself with these Halloween Safety Guidelines to have fun while remaining COVID-19 safe. And congratulations to Pacificans for your efforts during Census 2020. As of Monday, Oct 12, San Mateo County had the highest response rate of any county in the state, and Pacifica was the fourth highest response rate in the County at 82.9%! Way to go!

Sincerely,

KEVIN WOODHOUSE
City Manager

SCAM ALERT: Police Imposter Scam. We received a recent report of an individual identifying themselves as Pacifica Police officers in an attempt to entice community members into providing them with "payment" in the form of gift cards or bitcoin over the telephone.

These scam artists can seem convincing by using the names of our police officers and "spoofing" the telephone number they are calling from to display the police department's public telephone number. Our personnel will never call and ask you to provide payment over the telephone or in the form of gift cards or bitcoin. If you doubt the legitimacy of the person you are speaking with, hang up and call the police department at 650-738-7314 and ask to speak with our staff member who had called you. Pacificans Care, Pacifica’s community foundation, is kicking off its annual 2020 Share of Care Campaign. We know that not only is the need great, but it is escalating for those Pacificans in need of assistance during these difficult times. Pacificans Care, since 1982, remains the only nonprofit that provides you the opportunity to support Pacifica Senior Services, Pacifica Resource Center, Pacifica Child Care Services and Pacifica Youth Service Bureau through one donation.

Your contribution to the 2020 Share of Care Campaign will help our core agencies provide meals on wheels for seniors, assist families in need with emergency groceries, enhance learning experiences for preschoolers and children, and provide much needed counseling for teens and families in crisis.

To join us in supporting our neighbors in need click on
or visit the Pacificans Care website at www.pacificans-care.com.

Your contribution to Share of Care will help to build a healthy, self-sufficient, and improved quality of life for those in need in Pacifica. Thank You for your kindness and generosity.
