Dear Families,

Happy Friday! It has been a good week for our Special Education program. I am writing with a few brief updates.

  • High Needs Hybrid and Assessments: I am happy to share with you that we started our first assessments and initial cohorts this week. I want thank our teachers, our assistants, and our maintenance & operations staff for their incredible work in preparing our classrooms for this week and beyond. We have loved seeing our students back on campus and look forward to seeing even greater numbers next week. We are also planning for the second group of High Needs Hybrid cohorts. More information will be forthcoming.

  • Survey: While not all students are part of the initial High Needs Hybrid cohorts, our goal is to gradually add cohorts with health and safety as our number one priority. Please take a few minutes to complete this brief survey. Your responses will help us tremendously with our planning. As you complete the survey, please note that the High Needs Hybrid is a combination of distance learning and in-person learning for select specialized services. Students will be on site for approximately 2.5 hours in either the a.m. or p.m. The number of days per week (MTThF) will vary based on the services being provided in-person. Wednesdays are reserved for asynchronous learning. If your child is eligible to participate in future cohorts, your child’s case carrier will contact you with the proposed schedule.

  • SEAC Meeting: Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 27. We will send out an RSVP link next week.

I wish you a wonderful weekend!
