Film Screening: "Chasing Ice"
The Appalachian Mountain Club - Delaware Valley Chapter and Library Services - Newtown are sponsoring a showing of
"Chasing Ice" on
Wednesday, December 14th
at 7pm at our Newtown Campus.
Photographer James Balog was once a skeptic about climate change. Then in the spring of 2005 he went to the Arctic on assignment for National Geographic, to deploy time-lapse cameras designed to capture a multi-year record of the world's changing glaciers. It was not an easy assignment - cameras and people do not do well with long exposure to such extreme conditions; but he persevered, and the story and images were brought together in the movie "Chasing Ice". The movie is 75 minutes long and will be followed by a short discussion. This event is free and open to our Holy Family community.
