Dear Friends,
We hope you have been staying well over the past few weeks since our last message, and that each of you were able to enjoy a restful, warm and safe Thanksgiving. We have finally arrived at December, the last month of this seemingly very long calendar year. It goes without saying that all across the globe we have been challenged in ways we have never experienced, and while we are making progress to find a cure the challenges are certainly continuing. It may feel difficult, or nearly impossible, right now to find your holiday spirit this season, but we ask you to dig deep and try with all your might. The world needs the good energy to keep flowing, especially this year. All too often the conversations over the past months have been about what we have all had to give up, how frustrating it has been to change our routines, how the anxiety of the unknown is taking its toll, how we just want to go back to the way it was ‘before’. It is true, we have all had to adjust greatly, some much more so than others. Many people have experienced immeasurable loss this year, and while the voids left in their hearts will never be completely filled their losses do not have to be in vain. Through our positive and giving examples we can keep the spirits alive of those that have gone before us. Through our actions we can offer comfort to those around us and even to strangers on the other side of the world. Let us look into the depths of ourselves and remember what truly matters in life; kindness, compassion and empathy toward one another. These are gifts that may be given at any time, not just reserved for doling out during the holidays. This energy can live within each of us and always be there when someone needs it most. This spirit does not discriminate or judge, it simply gives and breeds understanding and hope. Try to always keep this outlook at the forefront of your mind and particularly over the next few weeks and months as we face the bigger journey ahead. Tell and show the people in your life just how important they are to you, that they are not alone and let your brightness illuminate the path forward for you and for everyone near and far.
Here at the resort our pace has slowed down as the blanket of winter slowly wraps itself around us. The gentle snowfalls transforming the forests into magical sugar coated wonderlands. The snowbirds foraging for sugar filled berries left behind from the summer. The squirrels searching for every last acorn that they hid in preparation of the months ahead. The lake starting to morph into a mystical frozen tundra. Another season of awe and wonderment awaits us and we are eager to try and capture and share the incredible beauty.
Thank you for being a part of our lives and for making it all worthwhile.
With peace, love, and gratitude,
Sue, Denny, Steph, Todd, Scott and James
