Dear Staff,
I want to thank those of you who participated in Wednesday's voluntary virtual meeting, and for sharing your thoughts and ideas in the break out sessions. We had in the neighborhood of 2,000 staff participate in this collaborative effort, all working together to identify areas of growth as a starting point to more discussions down the road.
Part two of this collaboration is next Wednesday, October 21st (again from 12-1pm). We ask that you keep an eye out for meeting invites and links on Monday. For those of you who couldn’t join us on Wednesday, don’t let that discourage you from joining next week, as there is a lot of insightful information to share and learn from. We look forward to these important conversations so we can continue to learn, grow and improve the virtual learning experience for our students.
As a reminder, the first dedicated Wednesday for Race & Equity Professional Development is October 28th, and professional learning will be developed at the school level. I encourage you to check out the district's new Anti-Racism Resources site, developed by our Equity and Engagement team.
Sincerely,
Carlton D. Jenkins, Ph.D.
Superintendent
