It's time for the Annual Florida Asphalt Scholarship Program Sporting Clays Tournament! This event will be held October 24th in Lithia, FL and you can register here. This is a great event for two reasons: first, all proceeds go to our Asphalt Scholarship Fund which is distributed to incoming college and trade school students connected to and interested in Florida's Asphalt Industry. The event is also great for all skill levels--those just learning to shoot and those who could compete professionally will find worthy competitors. We are looking forward to seeing everyone here soon.

If this were a "normal" year, the Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida would be giving our awards for the best paving jobs of 2019 at our summer convention. In lieu of this, we will be announcing winners in this space during the next four months. This year we received more applications for awards than any previous year in ACAF's history, and thus we are exceptionally proud of our winners.
This month we are announcing our District Champions in the non-FDOT Roads & Streets Category. In order to win this award, the project must have scored better than all other projects in the same category and District and exceed other strict scoring criteria. Thus, every district won't have a winner. Pavements are evaluated on Composite Pay Factor, Ride Quality, and Visual Inspection.
