New Officers Elected to ANSI's ASC A14 Committee
Join ALI in Congratulating Ryan Crawford and Brett Latimer
ANSI ASC A14 Committee elected new officers at the recent meeting on September 18 in Chicago. Ryan Crawford moved from the role of Vice-Chair to Committee Chair and Brett Latimer to Committee Vice-Chair. Crawford joined the A14 Committee in 2008 and Latimer was not far behind, joining the next year. Latimer serves as Senior Manager Engineering Systems and Compliance at Werner Co. and Crawford is President of Crawford Engineering Services. "It's an exciting time to be part of this committee, especially now as the ladder industry is changing and innovating so quickly. I look forward to doing my part to help keep ladder users safe," Crawford said.

OSHA Reveals Top 10 Violations at NSC Congress and Expo
Ladder Citations Ranked Sixth - Fall Protection Topped the List
OSHA published its Top 10 list for most-cited violations in fiscal year 2019, and fall protection led the rankings at #1, followed by hazard communication, scaffolding, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection and then ladders at #6. Fall protection yielded over 6,000 violations, while ladders yielded over 2,300. See the list

ANSI Announces Keynote Speakers for World Standards Week
Education Content to Focus on Building Connections for the Future
ANSI's annual World Standards Week will focus on hot topics in the industry and nation and how workplaces can be better prepared in this ever-changing environment. Patrick Gallagher, Ph.D., chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh and former under secretary for standards and technology in the U.S. Department of Commerce, is the opening keynote. His presentation will address the skills gap and provide tools on how to retain valuable employees. Jeff Strohl, Ph.D., will discuss current trends and the factors that may affect the workforce of the future. Strohl is a director of research at the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce. The event will be held November 4-8 coinciding with World Standards Day on Nov. 7 in Washington, D.C. Learn more and register.
