Reflection
Have you ever heard of the " prepper" movement? That is to say, people who prepare (thus the name prepper) for natural disasters, apocalypse scenarios, dystopian society and the like.

While it's not foolish to be a prepper in and of itself, it is counter-productive to do so out of fear. The only real kind of prepper preparation is inside oneself, a preparation and training of the heart, the mind, and the soul. This is what all the great sages and teachers were exhorting and exemplifying through their lives.

Without inner preparation no other kind of preparation will ever be enough. No amount of beans, rice, water, toilet paper, ammunition, whatever you deem sufficient. Why? Chiefly because all the material preparation can be taken away in an instant or overwhelmed by forces you cannot begin to predict.

Meditation, centering prayer, releasing the small self in exchange for the Large Self, the True Self, the real Self if you like, is what we must be on about if we are to soundly prepare.

The times we are experiencing now helps us pull the veil back to see how limited and weak we all are if left to our own external devices and sources of power. External sources of power while useful are also ultimately passing and illusory. If you question this perhaps it will take something much more dire than a few weeks of relatively easy isolation and quarantine.

In these days of Covid-19 there is a wide range of experience and some are experiencing things much more daunting and dire than several days and weeks of isolation and quarantine. Many are experiencing difficult and dire days of sickness, days of loved ones dying, days of no income and little resource to live and sustain themselves. When we become a "prepper" of the inner life reality comes into sharper focus. We see things more clearly as they truly are and what is truly important.

It is never too late to begin your inner prepping. Join us this Friday for a meditation, the divine therapy that takes us beyond our very limited ego and small self.

Hope to see you,

Zach

Meditation is re-establishing that connection."
