Changing Seasons in a Changing World
Autumn is here and as we soak up the last bits of warmth, we’re right there with you in finding ways to continuously adapt and adjust to our ever-changing world. Habitat for Humanity exists to build strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter – all of which are in high demand during these tumultuous times. We, at Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay, recognize the difficulties of the past few months, whether from the pandemic, employment, fires, or whatever this year has brought.

That said, we also recognize the moments of encouragement and progress that we’ve been experiencing! Both of our ReStore locations are open with Covid modifications and it’s wonderful to be able to see smiling faces (or more accurately, smiling eyes) once again. We’re so excited to have broken ground on our Rodeo Creek Court project! This project will house 11 families, which we are very excited about.

We hope that as the seasons change, you’re able to find warmth and encouragement while Habitat for Humanity continues the work of building alongside you in our community.

Volunteers Make a Difference
Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Habitat Monterey Bay programs. We can't wait to welcome you back to construction at Rodeo Creek Court, and for now, here are a few stories from two of our loyal volunteers.

"Being a volunteer with the construction crews at Habitat has been a highlight of this past year. It makes me feel useful to work alongside so many other dedicated volunteers." - Bernadette Olson

"I thoroughly enjoy my volunteer work with Habitat. I work with folks committed to making a difference in the lives of others. These same folks are also willing to explain, show, and patiently teach me how to perform various construction tasks. And it’s all done with good natured fun followed by a real sense of accomplishment at the end of the day." - Jim Bender
