Spring Edition
Hi, ladies!

It's spring and everything I love about this time of year is happening right here in my back yard. The weather is lovely and Beau is happy being outside with me. That's why this is where I am working today! I just wish there were friends sitting in those chairs.

Being under a Stay-Home-Work-Safe order, I'm finding that it is important to look for the joys in every single day. Being outside when the sun isn't melting my skin off, is one of those joys. Praise God, this is not happening in our scorching Houston summer!

This simple practice of finding joy in the midst of our daily lives, can help us get through this time without becoming fearful, anxious, or cynical. Whether it's a chat with a friend, a virtual coffee date, cleaning and reorganizing, making treats for a neighbor, or starting on a new project, doing things that bring us joy can help to change our overall mood and even our perspective.

So, I want to ask you. What are you finding joy in today?

You will find that this His Delight News is a bit different than our regular monthly newsletters. This month, I want to share with you where we are, what we are doing, and to let you know we are here for you.

I don't want to focus on the virus at all. In fact, I think it would be wise for some of us to call a cease and desist on the amount of time we spend watching, listening, and reading information about it. While being informed is a necessary thing, being anxious and fearful is detrimental to both our emotional, and spiritual well-being.

I want you to know what's happening in His Delight and how you can stay connected.

If you are already following our Facebook page, good for you! We will share ideas, suggestions, and our latest news there, first, because it's the easiest way to do so, and because we can post there often without filling up your inbox. If you are not following us on Facebook, I want to recommend that you do so if you are curious and looking for ways to stay engaged in this season.

As you probably already know, we have postponed all meetings and events for the time being. Things are ever changing. Therefore, we will keep you apprised of when LBS will resume and how we are doing with keeping to our 2020 schedule of events.

Here is our current schedule...

Over on our His Delight Facebook page, each day you will see a word of hope. We are posting a promise from scripture or a word we hope will encourage you. We invite you to share those posts to your Facebook timeline in an effort to flood social media with words that speak life, words that build up, and words that bring hope to others who may be struggling to find any at all.

We need hope so desperately right now.

Let's be women who point others to truth and who choose to be light in the midst of darkness. How we respond in this hour not only reflects on us as individuals. It also reflects on the church at large. Let's choose to stand in faith and speak blessings, life, and hope over our lives, over our families, our city, our nation, and over our world. Let's choose to stand upon the Word of God as our anchor and hold fast to it's promises. Our God is good all the time and he loves to show us his goodness. Let's react to our current situation like we believe it.

Last year, we shared a monthly Scripture Writing Plan from January to December. I thought it might be a good idea to do something similar, until this crisis is over. This month I have a Scripture Reading Challenge for you.

Some distractions are better than others. Getting our thoughts focused and centered on the Lord and finding in his Word what he says about how we are to live in this unprecedented moment, is a good and necessary distraction. Sisters, we need to be in his Word daily. His Word helps keep us grounded.

Please watch for additional posts and emails, in the coming days, for resources and thoughts on how you can stay connected and encouraged.

Please know that my team and I are here for you. I am ridiculously proud of these dear sisters and the many ways they are reaching out to many of you, and to their friends and family during this crisis. They are truly selfless servants and I am honored to be on this journey with them.

Please tell us how we can pray for you, and let us know if you are struggling. How can we serve you better through this ministry, especially right now? We want to be a blessing to you!

In the meantime, know that you are loved and cherished by our merciful Father, who has no plans of ever letting you go, no matter what comes your way.

Longing to see you flourish,
Cheryl
