Pumpkin Bash - TONIGHT!!!

Puesta del Sol- Outside Covered Area and Gym
This event is fun for the whole family
. There will be carnival games with prizes and dancing with our one and only DJ Howie. Pizza and Olive Garden (Salad, Pasta, Bread Sticks) will be for sale (cash only) while it lasts, as well as baked goods including allergy free options.
- Costume Contest at 7:15 (adults and kids)
- No Weapons/masks please

Passport Check Day

October Passport Check Day is on the 29th. We had a great turn out of new volunteers last month and would love to have even more join us! Please consider coming and checking out this awesome program!

Reflections 2019-2020 "LOOK WITHIN"
|
|
The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition.
Students start by entering their local school competition with the chance to advance to the District, State and National competitions.
To participate:
- Create An Original Work - 2019 Theme is: "LOOK WITHIN"
- Submit the Entry - Official Entry Form and Online Registration (we are also selling boards and protective sleeves for the Visual Arts category for $5)- scholarships are available.

Academic Challenge 2019-20 Begins!
|
|
Academic Challenge is a free enrichment program available to all students in Kindergarten - 5th grade. This is an optional, non-competitive program. Students choose and complete up to seven (7) challenges throughout the school year. These challenges are to be completed outside of school. Look for the Academic Challenge flyer to come home soon!

Drama Club Registration for 4th and 5th graders

|
Studio East/Puesta Del Sol Drama Club presents: Pinocchio
Drama Club Registration for 4th and 5th graders opens October 25, 2019. Only 50 spots available!
Puesta del Sol PTA is lucky to work in partnership with Studio East to produce a full-length musical for our 4th and 5th graders. Studio East provides a director and music director, scripts, music, sets, costumes, pro
ps, and an authentic play production experience. The entire process will take less than 7 weeks!
Auditions will be after school on November 18 and 19th. Location TBD. Practices will begin the week of November 25.
Cost is $120 students with scholarships available.

Staff Spotlight
Sra. Jane Young
|
|
The PTA would like to proudly spotlight one of our 3rd Grade Teachers, Sra. Jane Young.
Jane has been teaching at Puesta del Sol for 16 years of her 22 year teaching career, and brings a vast amount of experience to her classroom. She learned Spanish in High School and studied in Spain. She subsequently lived in Mexico for 7 years.
In her spare time, Jane loves to play soccer, ride horses and spend time with her 6 kids and new husband.
Congratulations on your marriage, Sra. Young! We are grateful to have you as a part of our wonderful teaching staff!!
