CFCI Awards More Than $170,000 in Fall Grants!
Every year the dedicated members of our volunteer grant review committees commit countless hours to evaluating numerous applications - all to make the very important and difficult decision of awarding funds for the Community Needs, Local Jobs Fund, and Emerging Philanthropists Fund grants.

This year, $170,500 was awarded to 17 deserving non-profit organizations that are providing vital programs and services to the central Illinois community, including more than $39,000 from the Disaster Recovery Fund to address needs specifically related to COVID-19.  The Community Foundation is proud to be the conduit through which our donors can make a legacy impact for today and the future.

A Word From Our Board...
Jeff Lange, CFCI Board Member
How did you become involved with the Community Foundation of Central Illinois?
I became involved in CFCI when former board member, Ron Miller of Pekin, introduced me to CEO, Mark Roberts, as a possible board member as he was outgoing and was desirous of a Tazewell county exposure.

What should everyone know about CFCI?
I think that people should know that CFCI is a wonderful conduit for philanthropic intentions. It provides a caring and thoughtful group of community representatives dedicated to fostering and protecting assets for the betterment of central Illinois life.

What are you looking forward to the most with CFCI in the next five years?
It is my fervent hope and desire that in the next five years our board can continue to expand our resources in order to make an even greater impact on the well-being of our communities.
Ending Hunger Together Grants Program
CFCI is pleased to announce the Ending Hunger Together Grants Program RFP will open on November 2, 2020.  Funding for this grant is made possible by the Ending Hunger Together Fund and the Sow A Seed Fund. Please join us to learn more about this grant opportunity and what is currently being done to address food insecurity in central Illinois. RSVP required.

Vernon "Butch" Gudat Scholarship
The Vernon "Butch" Gudat Charitable Fund is now accepting scholarship applications. This fund provides at least one $1,500 academic scholarship annually to qualifying children and grandchildren of career and volunteer firefighters in Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties. The fund commemorates the dedication and bravery of Peoria Fire Captain Butch Gudat, who died fighting an apartment complex fire on Main Street in Peoria on January 23, 1983.
