NAGA Manitoba Update
August 11, 2020
Since the opening of golf in Manitoba on May 4th, we have continued to hear from our members across the province that tee sheets remain very busy and both golfers and golf courses have continued to adapt well to the variety of COVID-19 policies and procedures as directed by the Province of Manitoba.

We have also had regular discussions with our members regarding clarification of many of the operational guidelines as Manitoba has continued to safely navigate its way from Phase One to the current Phase Four version of the Restoring Safe Services Plan.

Within the current version of the Plan (July 25th Update), here are the key guidelines that golf courses need to ensure compliance with:
  • Follow Phase Four guidelines as per Manitoba’s Recovering Safe Services: Manitoba’s Pandemic and Economic Roadmap for Recovery.

• Effective June 21, 2020 as a part of the Phase Three guidelines, the Province of Manitoba has directed that: A maximum of four golfers per group is allowed and two people per golf cart.

• Detailed public health guidance for businesses is available at: http://www.manitoba.ca/covid19/restoring/index.html

• Follow applicable restaurant guidelines at: http://www.manitoba.ca/covid19/restoring/phase-three.html

• Under the current Public Health Order, Mass gatherings have been updated at: http://www.manitoba.ca/covid19/restoring/phase-three.html
Now more than ever, it continues to be important that the golf industry ensures compliance with all public health measures to maintain and protect the safety of all or our golfers, staff team members as well as our communities across Manitoba.

On behalf of the Manitoba Allied Golf Associations, hopefully this information is helpful and will continue to work on your behalf as we move forward. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
