The Atwater Village Neighborhood Council is excited to invite you and your friends, family and neighbors  to our first Town Hall on the Community Plan. The Official update begins in 2020.

We have been interviewing residents and stakeholders about development trends for the past three years.   Our neighborhood council wants to discuss the results of our survey with you and see where we go from here... The AVNC Community Planning survey is an instrument that has the capacity to help us understand what we think (as a community) is best for our village in terms of community planning. The Town Hall is an opportunity to add your voice.

We want to hear your ideas for a better future Atwater Village.
Join us at Atwater Ave. Elementary School  -  3271 Silverlake Blvd. 90039  this Saturday September 14, 2019 from 10:00-12:30.

Free Giamelas lunch for those who attend and fill out an exit survey.

Assemblymember Laura Friedman is happy to announce that her office has begun taking submissions for their second 43rd Assembly District Photography Competition.

Last year, photographers used their talents and skills to explore and tell the stories of the communities that make up the 43rd Assembly District. This year, she is again calling upon photographers to capture the identity of our communities and neighborhoods.

Twenty photographs will be selected to be displayed at a gallery event hosted by the Assemblymember on October 11th in Glendale. At this event I will announce ten winning photographs that will be displayed at her Capitol and District offices for one year.

All ages and levels of proficiency are welcome to participate. Photographs will be judged anonymously by a panel of professional photographers. The works will be scored on the participant's ability to communicate and capture the story of their community.

You must be a resident of Assembly District 43 to compete. All formats (digital, film) will be accepted. Photo content must be presentable to general audiences; no photos containing violence, profanity, or other explicit subject matter will be accepted.

Submissions Open August 19 - September 20
Selections Announced - October 1
Gallery Event - Friday, October 11
