A Message to all SDYS Students, Parents, and Families from the Music Director

Dear SDYS Musicians, Parents and Families,

I am writing to you with a special message. During this time I want you to know that I and all of us at SDYS are thinking of you and that we are wishing for you all the very best to stay well, safe, and comfortable at home.

We are so very proud of all of the students in our SDYS Programs and you are all part of the SDYS family. You and your beautiful music have given inspiration and joy to families, friends, teachers, and to thousands of people in our community through your music together each week. We are all in admiration of the wonderful collaboration, teamwork, and achievement that you have all created together through your music. I hope that during this time you are all enjoying playing your instruments at home, learning about music online and that beautiful music is thriving for each of you as you play your instruments and listen to music at home. To all of the SDYS parents, we are thinking of you very much during this time and we thank you so much for the incredible opportunity that you have given us to share in the musical journey of your students together with you.

We at SDYS want to continue to be connected to you during this time to support you and to be a resource for you and to let you know that we are here for you. We are creating multiple ways for students and families to continue to be connected with us and to provide weekly opportunities for all students and families to continue their passion for music together through online SDYS opportunities and collaborative learning and instruction. Our SDYS conservatory staff will be reaching out to families regarding this process and to provide support for these opportunities.

We all at SDYS look forward to staying connected together with you and to continuing to be your partners in music as part of our SDYS family.  We wish you all the very best and we are here for you.

With Best Wishes,

Mr. Edmons
Music Director
