Message from the Town of Kensington

On October 1, 2021 the Town of Kensington raised the flag of the Mi’kmaq Nation at one of our flag poles near the Town Clock. This flag will fly year round in this place of honour beside the Canadian Flag, Prince Edward Island Flag and the Town of Kensington Flag. We plan to install another pole in that area to enable the Town to fly other flags on special occasions. We were pleased to welcome Chief Darlene Bernard from Lennox Island First Nations to assist us in this important step. We regret that due to COVID restrictions, we could not make this a large public event but limited attendance to invitations to a cross section of our community. When we see this flag flying may we all remember our duty as spelled out in the Trust and Reconciliation Commission Report.
