Archivist Position Available @ Lourdes Hospital

Lourdes is seeking a part-time Archivist (12 hours/week).

SCRLC RBDB 2015 Grants Are Available

Application Deadline:  March 2, 2015

 

SCRLC's Board of Trustees has approved $20,000 to fund information technology projects that benefit the SCRLC region and contribute to resource sharing, under the auspices of the Regional Bibliographic Databases & Interlibrary Resources Sharing (RBDB) Program.

 

Applications are available in Word or PDF format.      

 

 

The MOOC Hype Fades, in 3 Charts

Steve Kokowich, February 5, 2015. "Few people would now be willing to argue that massive open online courses are the future of higher education. The percentage of institutions offering a MOOC seems to be leveling off, at around 14 percent, while suspicions persist that MOOCs will not generate money or reduce costs for universities-and are not, in fact, sustainable." Libraries of the Future will also Be "Libraries of Things"

Sure, we can all find books in our local libraries, but does your library let you check out a camera? Maybe a printer? Or how about a sewing machine? If you live around Sacramento, California, you may be in luck. The Sacramento Public Library is launching a program called "Library of Things" to expand its collection beyond just books, films, and music to provide other resources community members might need, from tools to technology."  Read more.
