Classes with 100% Membership by November 2^nd will receive a $100 GIFT CARD for classroom supplies/books. The FIRST 5 classrooms to get to reach full participation will get actually get a $110 gift card as a THANK YOU for "giving a 110%"

SKECHERS PIER TO PIER ALL VIRTUAL FRIENDSHIP WALK

The annual SKECHERS Pier to Pier Friendship Walk is an awe-inspiring event that brings our South Bay community together for one common purpose: to support children with special needs and education.

In 2019 RBEF had 4112 registered walkers, making RBUSD the #1 School District for walkers in the ENTIRE SOUTH BAY!!! Join the JEFFERSON School Team NOW so Redondo can be #1 AGAIN!

Make sure to Join Team and checkbox Redondo Beach Educational Foundation so our school gets the credit!

RBEF has committed to grant at least the $30 registration directly to the school selected! Last year, Jefferson reached its goal: we had of 308 walkers and received $14,280 from RBEF.

Sign up your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and even your dog. This is also a great opportunity for family members and grandparents out of town to support your favorite school.

We may not physically be together this year, but we can still virtually come together for our favorite team event of the entire year!

WELCOME TO THE 2020 VERSION OF THE RUNNING CLUB

The Running Club is an optional program where YOU report your child’s running distance. There are a few things for you to know:

NEW STRIDETRACK NUMBERS: You will receive your child’s 14-digit number from his/her teacher by the end of next week to use with the StrideTrack software. This number is NOT the same as last year’s and you’ll need it for self-reporting.

USE STRIDETRACK.COM (NOT THE APP) For the self-reporting function, you need to use the company’s website at www.stridetrack.net.

The App that you may have used in the past will NOT work for self-reporting. But the website does!

PLEASE NOTE When school resumes and we are able to restart Running Club in its usual format, all totals will be reset, badges will be handed out and we will begin in person Running Club.

Your child can log up to 3 miles a day using the StrideTrack interface on the web. Remember we are on the honor system – only log those miles your child has actually run.

The interface at www.stridetrack.net is easy to use but if you have issues, we are here to help! You may contact us at the emails below with any questions.

The Battle of the Books is an exciting tournament of reading program offered to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. This year’s program will look a little different, but our mission to get kids reading hasn’t changed. And there will be fun prizes and awards!

CALLING ALL GREEN AMBASSADORS!

If your 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student is interested in being part of Jefferson’s Green Committee and doing his or her part to help the environment by encouraging fellow students to make environmentally responsible choices, it’s not too late to join the Green Committee!!

The Green Ambassadors will be meeting virtually one afternoon per month after school, starting in early October. All interested students should download a permission slip from the PTA website and e-mail it to Catherine Wieman at cnmitchell99@hotmail.com.
