Women Making History

Capt. April Bruner is the first female commander of a rifle company in the Missouri National Guard, as part of the evolution of female integration into combat arms established three years ago by the Department of Defense.
In an era when women were still protesting to earn the right to vote, Lt. Col. Cook rose through the military ranks to become one of the most highly decorated female service members of WWII. At a time when few women were serving, and those who were serving in active duty positions were segregated into "women's only" units, her actions in combat highlighted not only her strength and resilience, but her dedication to duty and country.
“I am so excited to be newly selected as a captain for the USA Boxing team,” stated Graham, the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Boxing Champion and Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. “We are a team that is motivated, dedicated to continue growth and passionate about gold medals, which is something I inspire to continue to bring to the table, while remembering leadership is an actual word, not a position.”

Veterans are returning to civilian life by the tens of thousands, eager to apply their highly refined talents in sustainable careers. Prudential recognizes that this presents a challenge: how can we best cultivate those talents for the betterment of our nation, and for the lives of those who have served us?
Walmart is grateful for the sacrifice our nation’s veterans, military men and women, and their families have made in service to our country. It is not only their duty, but their honor to support men and women in uniform not only when they are on the battlefield, but also when they return home and transition to civilian life.
