we have two guest speakers speaking on two different topics of importance to our community.
1.
Shazia Chaudhry, LMSW – a Program Lead at Dementia Friends CT
will share an introduction to what dementia is, 10 warning signs, and communication tips on how to support someone living with dementia. It is a disease that affects people regardless of race, ethnicity, faith, socio-economic factors.
2.
Shehrezad Haroon, a recent law student graduate working as a fellow at Greater Hartford Legal Aid (GHLA)
will talk about immigration issues of interest to our community. As part of her fellowship, she hopes to increase access to Legal Aid within the Muslim community.
Legal Aid provides free legal services to those who meet income eligibility guidelines and usually can’t afford the services of an attorney to represent them in civil matters otherwise.
