Water main breaks do not take holidays off. Service Authority Collection & Distribution (C&D) Department staff repaired two water main breaks on Thanksgiving Day 2021, one in Manassas and the other in Woodbridge.

“Water main breaks can be a major inconvenience for our customers, especially during the holidays,” said C&D Team Leader Bryan Caudill, who helped repair the main break in Manassas. “The Service Authority works hard to minimize the impact of breaks by responding to the scene quickly and keeping our customers in service as long as possible while making the repair. In many cases, we can fix a break with no interruptions to water service.”

C&D Team Leader Conner Armstrong, who helped repair the water main in Woodbridge, said he and his teammates appreciate when customers thank him and his crew for the work they perform.

“It makes us feel even better about the service we provide,” said Armstrong.
WINTER WEATHER WATER TIPS

Help keep your property and your neighbors safe from the hazards of winter.

Prevent frozen pipes by setting your thermostat to 55 degrees or higher while you are away from your home for extended periods and turn off the valve to your outdoor spigots.

Call (703) 335-7990 to report missing or broken meter lids to prevent your meter from freezing.

Remove snow that has built up around neighborhood fire hydrants to help firefighters easily access them.
