Breaking Glass - December 3
December’s Breaking Glass session, sponsored by CENT Credit Union, features author, professor, and international speaker, Rev. Dr. Norma Cook Everist.

Norma faced glass ceilings and rigid institutional barriers for women who wished to serve professionally in the Church. However, she persisted and paved the way with many “firsts” in her field.

This session will be held virtually from 8-9:30AM on Thursday, December 3. For more information and to register, click below.

Operation Thank You: #SomethingGood
Like many things in 2020, Operation Thank You will look a little different this year. Chamber staff and party sponsor First Citizens Bank will hand out 2021 Membership Packets “curbside style" from 10AM-1PM on Thursday, December 10 at the Commerce Center. Pick up your packet including Membership Certificate, CMO cards, Membership Directory, and more. Members will also enjoy hot cider, treats, and a goodie bag from First Citizens.

During this time of challenges, the Chamber invites you to share “something good” that happened over the past year. Chamber staff will have the camera rolling during packet pick-up, or members may submit their moments of cheer by clicking the button below.
YIELD Project Donations
This year’s YIELD class decided to restore Mason City’s beloved Prairie Playground for their community impact project. They are passionate about restoring a place they grew up playing and want it to be available for future generations to enjoy.

The group plans to stain the playground, make needed repairs on the equipment and structure, and potentially purchase engineered wood mulch (an ADA-approved fall surface material), if funds allow.

Students are collecting donations this fall and will execute updates in the spring. Those wishing to contribute to the project can send monetary donations to the Chamber of Commerce (9 N Federal Ave, Mason City). Please note “YIELD project” in the memo. Donations will be accepted through the end of December 2020.
Wellness Tip
Thanksgiving is upon us; bring a healthier side dish options to your table. These Honey Roasted Sweet Potatoes will hit the spot (and heat up great for leftovers!) Have a safe and healthy Thanksgiving!
